Getting ready

Sorry to keep banging on about it, but it's now less than a week until I leave for Quiltcon (insert slight panic here). As well as the deciding what to pack, the assembling of a hilarious outfit for the 80s Dance Party (fishnet gloves, anyone?) and the trying not to forget anything, I thought I had better make myself a name tag.
I saw this beauty on Marta's blog a while back, and shamelessly copied pretty much everything about it. I loved the embroidery, the genius buttonhole for attaching the lanyard, and the little pocket on the back for business cards. The only thing I did differently was to make a single pocket to fit my new, fancy, full size cards.
I ordered my cards from moo.com - they have such great service and so many options. I went with the glossy finish (which I don't think is available in the mini cards, unfortunately) and they look great. You can only order one design per pack with business cards though and it can be hard to choose. I had to go with the perv of course - it was a bit of a no-brainer for me.

(ETA: I am clearly a moron - you can get as many designs per pack as you want. Luckily I was happy to have them all the same!)
So that's one thing crossed off the list, leaving about twenty million more to do. I'm just going to add a blanket disclaimer and apology to all my bee mates at this point - it's not very likely that you will be getting your blocks on time. Forgive me?

I'm currently kicking myself that I didn't think to arrange for a big fabric delivery to your hotel that you could carry home for me. My very own fabric mule :)
